GrD3000: Personal Logo Design. Sketches + Drafts

For Gregg's GrD 3000 class, our first assignment was to create a logo for our own hypothetical design company. This logo was limited to contain just our initials (along with any accompanying graphic elements). As I made sketches for the logo, I thought specifically about the different types of graphic design work my company might be involved with. Thus, most of them are quite thematic, i.e....

Light Socket sketches=product design

Jester Hat sketches=comic/cartoon/illustration as well as personality examination influences

"W" with "A" shadowed in background sketches=retrospective/kick-back/duality/geometric

Record/Needle (or maybe crop circles?) & many towards the bottom=music design

Andrew....lots of wonderful sketches which exude an incredible ability to seek new forms and shapes for you client. As I was looking at all the work, I keep looking back at the image of the Keyhole at the top of your blogsite. It's so obvious what that indicates to me...and you might want to even use something like that inside your type forms for the client....since it truly represents the idea of "opening" doors which is what your client does for his company....his clients..the keyhole is very symbolic of a company who wants to unlock the inner persons idea of what housewares, furniture and such can be...renewal and reinvented. Your ideas are getting rich and imaginative and fresh. Don't stop yet.
